Description
A cozy, warm apple cider drink blended with salted caramel sauce, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla, perfect for quick and comforting weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups (950 ml) apple cider
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) salted caramel sauce
- 1 tablespoon (14 g) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional garnishes: whipped cream (regular or coconut-based), extra drizzle of salted caramel sauce, thin apple slices or a cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Pour 4 cups of apple cider into a medium saucepan and set over medium heat. Warm gently until hot but not boiling, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Whisk until butter melts and spices are evenly mixed, about 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly add 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce while whisking constantly until fully incorporated and cider looks smooth and glossy, about 2 minutes. Add a pinch of salt.
- Let the cider simmer gently for another 1-2 minutes without boiling. Taste and adjust sweetness or cinnamon as desired. Optionally add a tiny squeeze of lemon juice to brighten flavor.
- Pour hot cider into mugs. Garnish with whipped cream, extra caramel drizzle, and a cinnamon stick or thin apple slices if desired.
Notes
Heat cider slowly over medium or medium-low heat to avoid scorching. Use good-quality salted caramel sauce for best flavor. Adjust sweetness and spices to taste. For a dairy-free version, substitute plant-based butter and coconut whipped cream. Add a splash of bourbon or dark rum for an adult version after heating. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days and reheat gently.
