Description
A refreshing, three-ingredient summer cocktail made with fresh peaches, lemons, and bourbon. This easy-to-make pitcher drink is perfect for parties and requires minimal effort.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 medium ripe fresh peaches
- 3–4 medium fresh lemons
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- 1.5 to 2 cups bourbon
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Ice cubes
- Extra peach slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash peaches and chop into rough chunks, leaving skin on or off based on preference. Mash into a chunky puree in a large bowl using a fork.
- Add sugar to the mashed peaches and stir. Let sit for 5 minutes to draw out juices and create a natural syrup.
- Squeeze fresh lemons to get about 1/2 cup of juice. Add lemon juice and cold water to the peach mixture. Stir well and taste, adjusting sugar or water as needed.
- Pour in the bourbon and stir until combined. Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour to let flavors meld, or serve immediately over ice.
- Serve in glasses with ice, garnished with peach slices and mint leaves.
Notes
Use ripe peaches for the best flavor. Do not skip the 5-minute resting time for the sugar and peaches to create a syrup. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon and add more water or sparkling water. Store the base (without bourbon) in the fridge for up to 3 days; add bourbon just before serving to prevent separation.
