Description
These keto-friendly air fryer chicken wings are incredibly crispy, juicy, and made with just three simple ingredients. They offer the perfect crunch of takeout without the carbs, oil, or guilt, ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds chicken wings (bone-in, skin-on, mix of drumettes and flats)
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- ½ cup almond flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted, optional for sauce)
- ½ cup hot sauce (vinegar-based, sugar-free, optional for sauce)
- Blue cheese dressing (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
- Place wings in a large bowl and toss with kosher salt to coat evenly.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together almond flour, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Toss the salted wings in the almond flour mixture until lightly dusted; shake off excess flour.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the wings.
- Continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes until skin is golden brown, crispy, and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For sauced wings: Melt butter and toss hot wings in it, then add hot sauce and toss again. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure wings are completely dry before seasoning to maximize crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed. Flip wings halfway through cooking for even browning. If using an oven instead, bake at 400°F (200°C) on a wire rack for 45 minutes, flipping halfway.
