Description
A quick and flavorful weeknight dinner featuring juicy pork chops coated in a sweet, savory, and garlicky honey-soy glaze. Ready in just 20 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds boneless, center-cut pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 stalks green onions, sliced
- Salt, for seasoning
Instructions
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
- Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the same skillet; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey-soy mixture and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove skillet from heat and stir in butter until melted and incorporated.
- Return pork chops to the skillet, turning to coat in the glaze.
- Spoon sauce over the top, sprinkle with green onions, and serve immediately.
Notes
Patting the pork dry is crucial for a good sear. Do not crowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Pork is safe to eat at 145°F. The sauce will thicken as it cools, so plate immediately. Leftovers store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
