Description
A light, fruity, and refreshing iced tea combining fresh raspberries, juicy peaches, and robust black tea. Perfect for hot summer afternoons and easy to make in big batches.
Ingredients
- 4 black tea bags (Assam or English Breakfast recommended)
- 1 cup fresh raspberries (about 125g)
- 2 medium fresh peaches, sliced (about 300g)
- 2–3 tablespoons honey (optional, can substitute with simple syrup or agave)
- 6 cups filtered water (1.4 liters)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Ice cubes (optional: freeze raspberries into ice cubes for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring 6 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil.
- Pour the hot water over 4 black tea bags in a large heatproof pitcher or bowl.
- Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes (6 minutes recommended for a strong brew).
- While the tea steeps, rinse raspberries gently and slice peaches thinly but thick enough to hold shape.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in 2-3 tablespoons of honey while the tea is still warm to dissolve easily.
- Add 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir.
- Add raspberries and peach slices to the tea and stir gently.
- Transfer the pitcher to the fridge and chill for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Serve over ice cubes, optionally with raspberries frozen inside the ice cubes.
- Optional: strain out fruit before serving for a smoother drink or leave in for rustic look and extra flavor.
Notes
Use good-quality black tea like Twinings or Harney & Sons for best flavor. Do not over-steep tea to avoid bitterness. Sweeten while tea is warm for better dissolution. Chill for at least 30 minutes for best flavor infusion. Freeze raspberries in ice cubes to keep drinks cold without watering down. Tea keeps well in fridge for up to 3 days; stir before serving. Avoid freezing the tea to maintain clarity and texture.
