Football Game Day Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Dip

  • Author: Julia
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A warm, gooey, and incredibly rich chocolate chip cheesecake dip that requires no oven and is ready in just 5 minutes. Perfect for game day, this easy microwave dessert pairs beautifully with pretzels, fruit, or cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) full-fat brick cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Optional: Drizzle of caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit on the counter for 15-20 minutes or microwaving on low for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Mix vigorously with an electric hand mixer or fork until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy with no lumps.
  4. Microwave the mixture on high for 1 minute, then stop and stir well.
  5. Microwave for another 30-60 seconds, stirring in between, until the mixture is hot, glossy, and slightly bubbly. Do not boil.
  6. Remove the bowl from the microwave and immediately stir in the chocolate chips. The residual heat will melt the chips.
  7. Stir gently but thoroughly until the chips are mostly melted and the mixture is thick and gooey. If large chunks remain, microwave for 10-15 more seconds and stir again.
  8. Serve immediately while warm. If serving later, reheat in 15-second intervals and stir.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Microwave in short bursts to prevent curdling. The dip thickens as it cools; add a teaspoon of milk if it becomes too thick. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This recipe is naturally gluten-free if using certified gluten-free chocolate chips and dippers.
